Huawei is most commonly known for making smartphones, but they are now trying their hand at vehicles.
The Chinese brand announced that automotive company Seres has launched an extended-range electric vehicle known as the SF5. It offers a range of 180km in pure electric mode and 1000km in extended-range mode for long-distance travellers.
Utilising a lightweight aluminium chassis, four ball joint double-wishbone front suspension and trapezoidal multi-link rear suspension, it can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 4.68 seconds.

It comes in a range of body colours: Deep Ocean Blue, Charcoal Black, Pearl White and Titanium Silver Grey – along with Midnight Black, Garnet Red, and Ivory White interior trim. Both brands have created a new electric drive range extension system known as the DriveONE Three-in-One Electric Drive that delivers range anxiety and performance.
Where functionality is concerned, Huawei’s HiCar system allows users to switch between their mobile phone apps to the vehicle’s central control panel, enabling access to navigation and music. It can also connect the car to other smart devices, allowing the user to turn on air conditioning, smart-screen and other connected devices at home.

The SF5 has a vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) rescue recharge mode, which can provide emergency power to isolated vehicles and a vehicle-to-load (V2L) camping power supply mode, that supply’s power to external equipment.
Some of its features include L2+ level automatic assisted driving, traffic congestion assistance and full speed domain adaptive cruise control. The front row is equipped with seats that provide ventilation, heating and massage functions.
